for those meshout users still thinking about this (even those that have voted) just think we could help people like hellstrong!!
and if it helps theres roumores his working on a mighty helpful program for sketchup to help us along a bit more! ^_^
Since you brought it up
Id like to invite some people who use SU and the official IMVU exporter, to be involved in developing some new methods to work with SU regarding IMVU.
since theoretically pretty much anything is possible in SketchUp from rooms to accessories, and clothes to hairstyles, even avatar animations.
The only problem is the conversion from SketchUp to IMVU files is extremely limiting us in it.
Edit this whas actually a rlly long post but i kept getting distracted -_- so imma cut it short lol.
basically im looking for some people, who have basic SU knowledge, to help figure out what changes should be made in what we currently have, to enable other items being made.
Id like to address one sort of object at a time.
Start with easy stuff and move up to the complicated stuff.
Volunteers are required to have done the following:
*made several meshes in SketchUp for IMVU (send a link or 2 to some items you made, people who did scenes would be even more perfect)
*You have have edited or at least had a look at the XMF and XSF files in a text editor program (like notepad or something)
*your brain is still functional.
-Having 3DS Max is nice but not required.
The group is set to private and number of spots are limited.
We will get a "exporter" that handles clothing and hairstyles that use one bone, and accessories, but im not promising some kinda time frame when it should be all finished, and beyond the things just mentioned i wont give guarantees, well see how far we get.
Public versions will release every-time we get a step further.
